UBI’s DAYS (10-12th March)

The Wool Museum of the University of Beira Interior participates on the 12th Edition of the UBI’s DAYS (10 to 12th March). This initiative aims the divulgation of the UBI technical, scientific and cultural capacities next to the community, through the presentation of the exhibits, conferences, laboratory experiences, computer technology and multimedia and guided tours to the different sectors and departments of the University of Beira Interior.

The Wool Museum of the University of Beira Interior participates in this initiative with the following programme:

 

Royal Textile Factory

Guided tour to the 18th Royal Textile Factory Dye-house, a state manufacture founded by the Marquis of Pombal in 1764.

Opening times: From 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 18.00
Local: Marquês d’Ávila e Bolama Street, Covilhã

Royal Veiga Factory

TEXTILE WORKSHOPS:

Workshop From the sheeps to the wool  – Visiting the museum pastoral area and the making  woollen works, with a natural fiber, to the infantile public (5 to 12 years old) 

 
Workshop  The weaving art – Execution of weaving works in weaver’s looms (manual), to the young people public (13 to 18 years old)

TEMPORARY EXHIBITS:
 

Itinerary exhibit «Mathematics in Game», constituted by a informative panels set, games kits and mathematics games-board, aims to the children and young people from the Basic and secondary education. This exhibit is promoted by the Mathematics Department of the Mathematics College of the University of Lisbon.

Opening times: From 9.30 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 17.30
